WHO IT'S FOR
The work rhymes across all of these: something physical leaves the building, an event happens, and it comes back in a condition somebody has to record before it can go out again. What differs is the stock, the vocabulary, and how long the turnaround takes.
You rent the same 400 chairs over and over. What changes is who has them this weekend, what came back with a broken leg, and whether you can say yes to the next enquiry without walking out to a shelf.
Backdrops, arches, vases and drape get booked, set up, struck down and returned - usually by different people on different days. The stock does not care that it is beautiful. It still has to be counted.
Demand clusters. One weekend can empty a category while the next sits idle, and the difference between a good season and a bad one is whether you knew which weekend was which back in March.
The build starts days before the guests arrive and the strike runs days after they leave. Software that thinks a rental is a single date will always tell you the tent is free while it is standing in a field.
If you own the furniture as well as the timeline, you are running two businesses. The second one is a warehouse, and warehouses do not run on a shared document.
Most rental businesses are two or three of these at once. The software is the same either way - one record of what you own, what is promised, and what came back.
